Timetable — manual & auto-generate
Build by hand, or let the solver draft a clash-free week.
Everything starts from subject–teacher mapping: who teaches which subject to which section (set in Academics). The grid, the solver and substitutions all read from it.
Timetable: pick a section, fill each day/period with subject + teacher + times, save. The conflict engine blocks double-booked teachers as you edit.
Press Auto-generate: pick sections, days per week, periods per day and a per-teacher weekly cap. The solver proposes a complete, clash-free week — subjects spread across days, no teacher gets a third consecutive period when avoidable, heavier subjects lean morning. Review the proposal, then Publish. Nothing is written until you do, and the server re-checks every clash at publish time.
Partial re-solve: the "keep already-filled periods" toggle regenerates around locked cells — the mid-term "teacher left" scenario.
A teacher absent today? Substitutions finds free colleagues for each affected period and logs who covered whom.
